Similar to diode battery separators, FET separators allow two or more batteries to be charged simultaneously from one alternator (or single output battery charger) without connecting the batteries together.

Unlike diode battery separators, FET separators have virtually no voltage drop. The voltage drop is less than 0.02 volts at low currents and an average of 0.1 volts at higher currents.
